The Remembering the Brave Foundation is a non-profit, all-volunteer organization dedicated to preserving the memories of our brave service members who have made the ultimate sacrifice, and honoring their families in their time of enormous loss.
This organization has its beginnings with a mother and the Marine that came to notify her of her son's heroic actions. Together, they decided that it was their mission to create a purposeful organization dedicated to the presentation of military and civilian awards within an atmosphere of healing, where the families and active duty service members who served with their sons or daughters could come together, comfort each other, and honor the memories of their loved ones.
In April 2005, the first Remembering the Brave ceremony was conducted in Denver, Colorado. Ten Marines and their families from Colorado, Wyoming and South Dakota were honored in a solemn ceremony. This year our scope expands as we embrace a Navy SEAL and his family in the ceremony where three Marine families will receive posthumous medals for their son's incredibly heroic actions in the Global War on Terror.
Please familiarize yourself with our website. See what we do and why we do it. And if you feel inclined, help us to honor our brave service members who fought for freedom around the globe and in supporting the loved ones they have left behind. The memories of our heroes last as long as we demand. It is our mission to demand more. They deserve nothing less.
